UFA, RUSSIA / NEW DELHI – June 21, 2025
In a shocking development, Bashkir State Medical University (BSMU) has expelled over 300 Indian MBBS students — many in their 3rd and 4th years — without legitimate grounds, sending shockwaves through student communities and parents across India.

🚨 Indian Embassy Intervenes, Dean’s Behavior Raises Questions

After continuous protests and desperate pleas by expelled students, officials from the Indian Embassy visited BSMU to mediate. However, what followed further exposed the rot at the top.

Sources confirm that Dean Rasul Salikhovich Farshatov, head of the International Faculty, spoke rudely and dismissively even to Indian embassy officials — a move that has caused outrage.

Farshatov, once working as a security in-charge in a hostel, is now under scrutiny for how he conducts himself in a senior academic role. Students say he has repeatedly disrespected both students and diplomats, highlighting a lack of professionalism and accountability.

🧠 Not the First Time: History of Misconduct

Farshatov had previously been summoned by the Medical Council of India (now NMC) in 2016 over similar behavior and allegations. But after a temporary pause, his pattern of corruption and abuse resumed within a few years, students say.

“When someone with a security background starts running a medical faculty without checks, this is what happens,” a student said. “This is not education — it’s exploitation.”

💰 Corruption and Bribes: A Growing Scandal

Farshatov allegedly accepted bribes of $200–$300 per student via Indian contractors to push admissions beyond legal limits. Over the years, BSMU reportedly enrolled 900–1500 Indian students annually, despite having limited infrastructure and faculty.

Now, to cover up over-admissions, hundreds of students are being mass expelled, with no regard for their future.

🕵️‍♂️ Where Are the Agents?

Indian education agents — who promised parents a secure MBBS path abroad for $2,000–$5,000 per student — are missing in action. Families who sold property or took out loans are now left in emotional and financial ruin.

“We were told we’d be safe and guaranteed a degree. Now our kids are being thrown out like garbage,” said one parent.

📢 Student Demands Are Clear:
1. NMC must allow transfers for affected students so their years are not wasted.
2. Blacklist Bashkir State Medical University immediately.
3. Investigate the role of Dean Farshatov and his connections with Indian admission agents.
4. Provide legal and financial support to expelled Indian students abroad.
5. Indian Government must publish a verified list of foreign universities safe for students.

⚠️ Students’ Futures at Risk

Hundreds of Indian students now face a dead end — no degree, no transfer option, and no financial backup. Many are overage for reapplying to other universities, and are now caught in a cruel trap of bureaucracy, corruption, and silence.

🚨 This is not just a scandal — it’s a betrayal.
The Indian Government and NMC must act urgently and decisively to rescue the futures of these students.
