New Delhi, August 14, 2025 — The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declared the results for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) June 2025 session, conducted on July 26, 2025. The result once again highlights the underscored the difficulty of the screening test, with more than 29,000 candidates failed to secure a passing score
According to official data, 37,207 candidates had registered for the examination. Out of these, 1,168 were absent on the examination day. Out of those who were present on examination day, 29,327 candidates failed, meanwhile the results of five candidates have been held pending investigations by the Examination Ethics Committee and the National Medical Commission (NMC).
The FMGE is a compulsory licensing examination for Indian medical students who have earned their medical degrees from abroad. Passing the test is mandatory for registering with a state medical council and practicing medicine in India.
How Candidates Can Access Their Results
NBEMS has made the results available on its official website, natboard.edu.in. Candidates can download the FMGE June 2025 result PDF from the Public Notice section and use the search function to locate their roll number and qualifying status.
While the qualifying status is now available, individual scorecards will only be released on August 21, 2025. These can be accessed by logging into the NBEMS portal with registration credentials.
NBEMS has also stressed that an online scorecard alone will not be accepted for state medical council registration. Successful candidates will need to collect their pass certificates in person, after a thorough verification of identity and documents. The board will announce the distribution schedule in the coming weeks.
NBEMS Confirms Exam Integrity
In the latest announcement, NBEMS every question from the June 2025 FMGE exam test paper was reviewed after examination, and no technical faults were found. Alongside declaring the results, the board also shared the unconfirmed examination calendar for 2025, including dates for FMGE, NEET-SS, DNB, and other major medical examinations, guiding students/aspirants to a clear roadmap for the upcoming year.
Post-Result Challenges
Even for the candidates who passed, the journey is too far. In several states, including Rajasthan, qualified candidates face delays in starting their internships due to disagreements over stipend policies and sfew seats availability. Conflicted rules between the Supreme Court and the NMC have complicated the process even further, which leaves many graduates in a hanging position .
The Road Ahead
With the results now public, candidates are advised to download their results once available, stay updated on the pass certificate issue dates, and actively contact state medical authorities to secure internship placements.
