The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has launched a new Google Form platform as a national initiative to systematically monitor and document assaults and violence against doctors in all-over India. This online reporting tool/form allows doctors from any part of the country to confidentially report incidents of physical assault, abuse, or pressure experienced by themselves or witnessed against other medical professionals (Doctors). By combining all this information in a central registry, the IMA proposes to confirm that every case weather it of violence against healthcare workers, or mentally violence, including those from inaccessible and underreported areas, is brought to light and effectively recorded.
This initiative arises against the background of a growing fear over rising violent and dangerous incidents which targeting doctors in hospitals and clinics nationwide. With a strong, technology-driven reporting mechanism in place, the IMA aims to maintain an exact, up-to-date database of such cases. This database is planned to become a powerful legal support tool for pushing the Union government towards endorsing a complete Central Act that proactively protects medical professionals and institutions from such violence.
IMA’s leaders, includes National President Dr. Dilip Bhanushali and National Vice-President Dr. D. Tiwari, has actively encouraged state presidents and secretaries to frequently update the platform with reports from their respective areas. This strong confirmation from the national body (National Officials) underscores the importance of synchronized action and a united front to attack this critical issue. State-level segments/units and coordinators have widely welcomed this method, recognizing the potential of technology to quickly bridge the gap between incident and reporting, it enables faster and more effective intervention in case of violence.
The newly launched Google Form will play a crucial role in increasing transparency and instant tracking of violence incidents against doctors, allowing the IMA to raise constant pressure on both state and central authorities to guarantee justice for victims. Besides, it also aims to promote a safer working environment for doctors and medical professionals by directing the government to recognize hospitals as protected and safe zones for everyone and to implement strict penalties and punishments against offenders/crooks.
Beyond instant incident reporting, this IMA initiative forms are also part of a wide-ranging strategy for supporting legal improvements and awareness campaigns to control the danger of violence in healthcare surroundings. It highlights the necessity of systemic institutional responses, including dedicated security measures in hospitals, legal protections, and public sensitization on the critical role and safety of medical professionals.
With this move, the IMA supports its commitment to protecting doctors and medical staff, determined to create a culture of respect and security essential to deliver the quality healthcare throughout India. The Google Form is an essential tool in this mission, providing nationwide doctors with a simple yet effective means to report and fight-back to violence while strengthening the call for judicial and administrative improvements to protect the medical society.
