The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has revised the schedule for Round 2 of NEET Super Speciality (NEET SS) Counselling 2025 following directions issued by the Delhi High Court. The revision allows eligible petitioner candidates to re-register and participate in the Round 2 counselling process.

The development comes in connection with Writ Petition (Civil) No. 11097/2026, Sunil & Another vs Medical Counselling Committee, in which the Delhi High Court permitted the concerned candidates to participate in the counselling process.

Following the court's directions, MCC has withdrawn its notification dated August 3, 2026, with immediate effect and issued a revised schedule for the counselling process.

NEET SS Counselling 2025 Round 2: Resignation Window

Candidates who were allotted seats in Round 1 but wish to surrender their seats have been provided a specific window to complete the resignation process.

According to the revised schedule, the resignation facility will remain available from August 6, 2026, at 10:00 AM until August 7, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Candidates intending to resign from their Round 1 seats should complete the process within the stipulated deadline.

Delhi High Court Order Leads to Counselling Schedule Revision

The revised schedule follows the Delhi High Court's intervention in the matter involving candidates who sought an opportunity to participate in Round 2 of NEET SS Counselling 2025.

In compliance with the court's directions, MCC has made provisions for eligible candidates to re-register and participate in the counselling process. The earlier notification issued by MCC on August 3 has consequently been withdrawn.

The revision is significant for candidates who were previously unable to participate in the Round 2 process and are now eligible to register in accordance with the court's directions.

What Candidates Need to Do

Candidates planning to participate in the revised Round 2 counselling should carefully follow the updated timeline issued by MCC.

Eligible candidates should:

Complete the Round 2 registration within the prescribed deadline.

Pay the applicable counselling fee before the payment window closes.

Fill in their preferred choices carefully.

Lock their choices within the specified choice-locking period.

Check the Round 2 seat allotment result once released.

Report to the allotted institution between August 14 and August 20, 2026, if a seat is allotted.

Candidates wishing to surrender their Round 1 seats should complete resignation within the designated resignation window.

Candidates are advised to regularly check MCC's official website for any additional notifications, changes or instructions related to NEET SS Counselling 2025.

Bottom Line

The revised NEET SS Counselling 2025 Round 2 schedule provides an additional opportunity for eligible candidates following the Delhi High Court's directions. With registration, payment, choice filling and seat allotment now scheduled according to the revised timeline, candidates should ensure that every counselling-related activity is completed within the prescribed deadlines.

Missing a registration, payment, choice filling or reporting deadline could affect a candidate's participation in the counselling process. Therefore, candidates should carefully verify the revised schedule and follow the official MCC instructions throughout the process.
