World AIDS Day, this day is devoted to increasing awareness about HIV/AIDS, supporting the people who were living with this virus, and recalling the millions of loved ones, who have lost their lives because of this virus. Established in 1988, it is still the first global health awareness day ever created.

Despite major medical treatments were developed throughout the time, HIV/AIDS still affect millions of people worldwide. This Day helps:

* Increase awareness about anticipation, detection, and treatment.

* Promote unity with people who have to live with HIV.

* Break shame and distortion that still happen.

* Reassure global deed to improve health care and decrease contaminations.

A Look at the Progress

During the recent years, the worldwide response on HIV/AIDS has improved intensively:

* Antiretroviral treatment (ART) can helps people with HIV to live long, healthy lives.

* Stoppage tools like PrEP and PEP have decreased new infection rate.

* Awareness campaigns have improved education and access to care.

Yet difficulties still exist, particularly for communities and societies with limited resources and high humiliation rates.

World AIDS Day is a reminder for everyone, showing how far we’ve come, and how much more we have to and we must do. By unification on December 1, we honour people, those who were affected by HIV/AIDS and reinforce the worldwide effort to create a future free from AIDS.
